Meet Michele
Michele is a wife, and mother of five children. Michele holds a Music Education and Vocal Performance BS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a graduate degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University, Chicago. After college, Michele spent several years singing-dancing-acting professionally in the Chicagoland area. You may have seen her at The Pheasant Run Dinner Theater, The Second City, singing with Kenny Rogers, First Financial Industrial films, or even on the big screen. Michele has sung vocals with several Christian recording artists, and is currently developing a children’s educational series.Michele Directed for Christian Youth Theater (CYT). Since CYT Chicago’s inception in 1995, Michele’s leadership has played a key role in the growth of the organization from one county to 12 in the greater Chicago, Milwaukee areas. Formerly, in an educational capacity, Mrs. Christensen was on staff at Trinity Oaks Christian Academy, Willow Creek Arts Center at Willow Creek Community Church, South Barrington and a General Music Teacher in Crystal Lake, McHenry, Elgin Illinois. Michele’s passion and creativity can also be seen in her original children’s musical “Creation-The Musical” debuted on April 2 , 2007, complete with 9 original songs. The Musical has been revised and updated with 2 versions appropriate for elementary school children and middle school. The Creation Museum and Answers in Genesis were instrumental in the newest version completion and adaptations. Michele currently leads worship at the Fox Lake Community Church where her husband Wayne has faithfully served as Senior Pastor for 26 years.

With three degrees in music and a degree in educational leadership, I am committed to fostering a love for music and lifelong learning. Having spent my adult life teaching and performing in the Chicagoland area, I am excited to bring joy and encouragement to your residents through our time together.
